Kalexo Teamwork has a soccer ball that you can "kick" to a team member to indicate that it is their turn to do some work. The person who has the ball on a thread gets immediately notified, and the thread appears on his/her todo list, conveniently nagging that person until the work is done!
You can also kick the ball to other firms, which is a nice way of saying "Hey! lets not drop the ball on this".
BTW, in the real-world it is considered bad practice to keep the ball in the air, e.g. passing work around like a hot potato and not getting anything done at all!
